Malovishta is deeply nested in the National Park Pelister on a height of 1.000 meters above sea level. Your host will welcome you on the regional road A3 Bitola – Resen, on the exclusion towards Kazani village at 17 km from Bitola and 20 km away from the city of Resen. From this point to the center of the village there is a 4 km distance, which you will remember by the beautiful views of the picks of Baba Mountain, and the biodiversity of the oldest National Park on the Balkans – Pelister.
Upon arrival in Malovishta, you will meet its rich history, culture and architecture, while the locals transfer to you their history, past, charm and charisma. From the center of the village, thru a steep cobbled path you will continue towards the cathedral church St. Petka, built in 19 century having unsurpassed greatness, both physical and spiritual. The church St. Petka besides its marvelous dimensions hides beautiful frescoes and encompasses the second largest icon collection in Macedonia. Even if you are not an experienced church painting enthusiast or professional, its atmosphere and the greatness of its artistic expression will steal your sigh and respect.
Your indulgence continues in the untouched nature above Malovishta, right along Shemnica River valley. From here, you will enjoy view of beautiful landscapes, sights of the village and National Park Pelister. For a moment, you will feel being inseparable part of one greater story in which human ratio does not apply and the only laws that rule are the ones of the Nature and the flora and fauna that surrounds you.*
After your return in the center of the village, you will continue towards the miraculous St. Ana monastery, horseback riding thru dense forests on the far known Malovishta horses. Due to it characteristics, St. Ana represents cultural location not only for the locals, but also for many people coming from all over the country and beyond. Here, in the court yard of the newly constructed lodgings, you will enjoy traditional Macedonian meal accompanied by the peace and silence of the untouched nature.
Instead of a glass of alcohol, your digestive will be easy hike thru Malovishta meadows back towards the center of the village.
