Info center – Peak Pelister

The tour starts at Info Center in National Park Pelister, providing perfect opportunity for hikers to start their journey with a brief visit and introduction with the biodiversity exhibition presented in the Center. From the Info Center, the tour starts to follow perfectly shaped trail, passing by centuries-old molika forests, “stone rivers” and mountain springs. At the locality called “Palisnopje” the trail starts to ascend within dense evergreen forest, making the journey pleasant even in the hottest summer days.

The tour starts at Info Center in National Park Pelister, providing perfect opportunity for hikers to start their journey with a brief visit and introduction with the biodiversity exhibition presented in the Center. From the Info Center, the tour starts to follow perfectly shaped trail, passing by centuries-old molika forests, “stone rivers” and mountain springs. At the locality called “Palisnopje” the trail starts to ascend within dense evergreen forest, making the journey pleasant even in the hottest summer days.

Once the forest is passed, the tour reaches approximately 2.000 masl. At this altitude, evergreens “step floor” to the granite, deep blue skies and chill air. Perfect overviews of Pelagonija and Prespa plains give hikers “support” from behind and peak Pelister strengthens their motivation from above. In this section of the trail, hikers can witness remains of the improvised Austro-Hungarian World War 1 hospitals. After 45 minutes of “stone hiking”, the trail welcomes peak Pelister.

The descent from the peak follows mild and wide trail called “Shiroka” (Wide trail). It passes by the Hunters Hut (Lovecka kukja) providing hikers the company of Pelister’s biodiversity, springs and rivers. When the tour will reach Palisnopje, hikers can choose to go back to Info Center or, by slight ascend through picturesque forest, to reach Kopanki and then descend to hotel Molika.

This tour spreads in the most beautiful areas of National Park Pelister. It is abundant with endemic flora and fauna but also provides encounter with historic remnants from World War 1. It is designed to provide unique experience for advanced recreationists and mid-level experienced hikers.
